How to Throw a Plant Based Football Party with Sunflower Haché
With the pandemic still in progress, parties in 2021 will look eerily similar to that of 2020: non-existent. Just because you can’t throw an all-out football party doesn’t mean you have to miss out on all the traditional fun. Whether you’re celebrating within your household, hosting a virtual party, or just watching by yourself you can still enjoy the big game with these delicious plant-based versions of your favorite Sunday snacks!
Chili Sin Carne
Nothing says game day quite like a heaping bowl of chili. Our Chili Sin Carne meal kits make cooking vegan chili easy! Sauté 1 diced onion in oil. Add 7 oz kidney beans and 7 oz corn. Add 2 cups of water, spice mix, and Haché. Stir together and bring to a boil. Top with your favorite chili toppings!
What goes together better than football and nachos? These nachos are made with our Chili Sin Carne meal kit to make them a simple meatless treat! Cook up some Chili Sin Carne and then ladle onto tortilla chips. Top with cheese and bake until the cheese melts.
Buffalo Meatless Meatballs
Who says you can’t have meatballs without the meat? These “meatballs” made with Sunflower Haché are perfect for munching your way through the game. Topped with your favorite buffalo sauce, this appetizer is easy and fun! Blend together 1 1/4 cup cannellini beans, 1/3 cup oats, 2 garlic cloves, 1 diced onion, 2 tbsp tomato paste, and 2 tbsp ground flax. Mix blended ingredients in a bowl with 1 package of Sunflower Haché. Take small bits and roll into balls, then brown in a pan and bake at 400 F for 10 minutes. Toss in your favorite buffalo sauce and eat away!
Haché Queso Dip
No party is complete without cheese dip: gooey melted cheese with your favorite chips for dipping. This recipe is so easy you could do it in your sleep (but please don’t try that). Cook 1 package of Sunflower Haché and 1 can of diced tomatoes and green chilis with juices in a pan until Haché has absorbed all liquid. Add 1/2 tsp garlic powder and 8 oz cubed cream cheese. Cook until cream cheese melts, then add 1 cup cheddar cheese. Cook until cheese is melted and everything is mixed together. Serve with tortilla chips or your favorite dippers!
Chili Cheese Fries
Looking for an easy, yet delicious snack? These Chili Cheese Fries are calling your name! Just heat up some frozen French fries then top with SunflowerFamily Chili Sin Carne and your favorite vegan cheese!
This easy appetizer is so good it may be gone before kick-off! Delicious cremini mushrooms stuffed with our simple Sunflower Bolognese makes this dish an easy addition to your game day table. Just cook up Sunflower Bolognese according to package instructions and stuff into cremini mushrooms. Top with mozzarella and parmesan cheeses and bake at 400 F for 20-25 minutes or until the mushrooms are tender and the cheese is golden.
If you’re throwing a mini party within your household, the easiest meal to feed a crowd is lasagna! This Haché lasagna recipe is ready in minutes and is guaranteed to leave everyone happy. Cook 9 strips of lasagna noodles. In a separate pan heat 2 cups pasta sauce and 1 package Sunflower Haché. In a bowl, combine 1 cup vegan ricotta and 1 cup shredded vegan mozzarella cheese. Spread 3-4 tbsp sauce on the bottom of a 9×9 oven safe dish. Layer 3 lasagna noodles. Spread 1/3 cheese mixture and then 1/3 sauce mixture. Repeat process two more times. Sprinkle mozzarella to cover top. Broil 5 minutes or until golden brown.
